Little Pieces pt 2 (again)

In more recent times there was the incident with Danny Bryson. The Brysons lived on a farm just a few miles outside of town. A portion of those woods lay between their farm and Alexander. The Brysons themselves always took the wagon road that skirted the southern edge of the woods if they needed to go into town. It took longer, of course, but even walking on foot or riding horseback no one in the family would attempt a short cut through the woods. That is until one day when Danny Bryson, their oldest son decided to ignore the conventional wisdom and attempt a shortcut through the forest. At least, that’s what was assumed. No one knew for certain because Danny Bryson was never seen again.  His father had ordered him to town with the family mule to buy some sugar, salt and a few other things the Brysons didn’t raise themselves. The mule turned up three days later but no sign of Danny could be found.
